I liked you ideas about tacks, and perhaps I should also tell you that I 
often fantasise about needles.....! (ouch!).

A lot of things can be done with needles and the equivalent.  I've just
learned I should be able to get medical grade stainless steel welding
rod as thin as 30 gauge.  Diabetic insulin needles are usually around
22 to 26 gauge (larger gauge is smaller size).

The rods come in lenghts of up to almost a meter in lenght.  Long enough
to have one rod penetrating both breasts, then you can heat the ends or
the middle of the rod.
